Bajajsons Limited is an auto component manufacturing company, part of Bajaj Group of Industries that was established in 1960. With units situated in Ludhiana and Nashik, the company employs over 2500 employees and produces transmission, suspension, chassis and critical engine components comprising of machined forgings, sheet metal, turned, tubular and sub assembled components for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and the tractor industry. The company’s current turnover is in excess of Rs.162 Crores (USD 37 Million).

Brief

We were given the brief to design the corporate profile of the company that would include the following:

1. Brochure

2. Corporate presentation (PPT and PDF version)

3. Flash presentation

4. CD cover/label design

These collaterals would be used to present the company profile, showcase products offered, introduce visitors to the company and engage perspective clients in different marketing activities.

Concept Note

This was a demanding project that posed several challenges. Let us take you through the different development stages in brief.

Research

We began by understanding the business and it’s various technical aspects. This included studying competitors and markets of perspective clients. At first, all this information wasn’t getting us anywhere. We even tried taking a break with those Dunkin Donuts – they’re the creamy glazed, cinnamon flavoured, chocolate sprinkled goodies. But, after several brainstorming sessions, we arrived at our core idea. A concept that would present the different tones of the company in a new way.

Bring Together

Since Bajajsons is an auto component manufacturing company, most of the information and language turns out to be a bit too technical and machine like. We wanted to break away from this rigid tone and become people friendly. In short, we wanted to talk to people who run companies and not cyborgs from 2090.

Design Note

The entire campaign carries only a single typeface and colour (cyan). We’ve kept all the visuals black and white and left loads of breathing space. The design and copy leave impressions of an established and trustworthy company with a signature global appeal.
